Petru Andrei is Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida A&M University and Florida State University. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2004 and his M.S. and B.S. in Physics from the Alexandru I. Cuza University in Romania. He joined the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering in Fall 2004.
Dr. Andrei has published on the modeling and simulation of nanoscale semiconductor devices and magnetic materials, and on computational electromagnetics. He is particularly interested in the analysis of fluctuations and noise in ultrasmall semiconductor devices, quantum mechanical induced effects in nanoscale devices, spintronics, modeling and analysis of magnetic properties of nanostructure systems, fast multipole methods, magnetic semiconductors, and hysteresis phenomena. Dr. Andrei is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and American Physical Society (APS) and is currently serving as referee for numerous journals. He serves as the Printing and Publicity Chair for the International Conference on Magnetism (INTERMAG) and is a member of the advisory board and technical committees of other international conferences.
